Collective Agreements

Family Group Day, 10/2

We will be holding our next family group this Wednesday.  Please let Aimee or Sarah know if you have any questions.

Class of 1969 Reunion Visit, 10/4

On Friday at around 11:30am, the class of 1969 will be visiting Hixson and taking a tour as part of their 50^th class reunion festivities.  We will have about 17 visitors being led through the building by our character and student leadership teams.  Feel free to chat with our visitors and get their perspective on Hixson 50 years ago!

PT Conferences

PBTE Rep NEEDED

If you are interested in serving as a building PBTE Rep, please let me know.  We have a position open on the committee.

Faculty STEP Team

If you are interested in learning some moves and challenging our steppers, come join the faculty Step Team!  Practice days and times have not been determined yet but if you are interested, let me know. Folks who are interested will gather and determine a good practice day/time and begin learning.

Character Committee Mtg, 9/23

The Character Committee will be meeting on Monday at 3:30pm in the Library.  Please join us!  New folks are welcome.

Upcoming PD Days, 9/25 & 9/26

ELA teachers will be out on Wednesday, 9/25 and Science teachers will be out on Thursday, 9/26 for district PD.  Both of those days will be high sub alert days.

Speaker Series, 9/26

Join the counselors, Nurse Amy, OC, Dr. Roddy and Gail for a night of great information around kids and supporting them.  The team will present a variety of sessions for folks to attend.  The event runs from 5:30-8:00.  Come out and support our team!

Spanish 2 SALSA Contest, 9/16

Join Spanish 2 students as they celebrate Mexican Independence on Monday.  Drop by during hours 2, 3 and 4 and sample some salsa and cast your vote.  Please, do not bring your classes out with you for this event.  The Spanish teachers are testing the waters with this event for the first time this year.

HS Drama Class Performance, 9/16

Sorry for the short notice but if you or your class would like to watch a short performance by the HS drama 3 class, drop into the auditorium during 6^th hour.  The drama class has written and put together a brief show, about 20 minutes and will be performing it during 6^th hour. 

SLT Meeting, 9/16

The School Leadership Team will be meeting on Monday afterschool in the Library at 3:30pm.  SLT is made up of department leaders, CLT leaders, instructional leaders and anyone who would like to be a part of school wide decisions and leadership.  If you have not served on the committee and are interested, please join us!

Calendar Committee, 9/17

If you are interested in serving on the calendar committee this year, please let me know.  The first district meeting is Tuesday, at 3:30pm at CO.  It may be a little more interesting this year with the changes made by the state to the calendar.

Math PD with Parkway, 9/18

On Wednesday, our math teachers and Parkway math teachers will be meeting in the library for PD with Kara Imm from 8:30-3:30pm.

SLOs DUE on 9/20

Please make sure to hit submit on your SLOs by Friday.

8^thGrade Band @ Halftime Show, 9/20

Come out and enjoy the musical talent of our 8^thgraders at the halftime show on Friday.  WGHS will be playing Pattonville.

Faculty meeting will be in the café beginning at 3:30pm.  Please bring your laptops.  You will use them at the end of the meeting for the exit slip.

Social Courtesy Mtg, 9/11

Social Courtesy will be meeting on Wednesday at 3:30pm in the cafeteria.

Intruder/Active Shooter Student Presentation, 9/4

Mike reviewed the protocol for intruder/active shooter.  On Wednesday, through SS classes, students will review a presentation about our intruder/active shooter protocol.
