Sunday Night Memo, 3/25/18

Welcome back!  I hope you had a great break, relaxing and enjoying the time off.  We are now in the home stretch as we begin to get closer to the end of the school year.  Though the countdown in the number of days hasn't quite started for me, I do know the next 9 weeks will move fast. 

PLC Meeting
PLC's will meet tomorrow, 3/26 from 3:30-4:30pm

School Leadership
If you are interested in any of the building leadership positions for the 2018-2019 school year, please let me know.

Updated Projectors
Some of the older projectors in classrooms will begin getting updates.  Starting tomorrow, 14 will be getting replaced.  You will be contacted if your room is getting an update.  Projectors waiting for electricity to be connected should have been connected over break.  If your room is still without electricity for your projector to be mounted, please let me know so I can let facilities know.  Thanks for your patience as we work with district facilities.

Sunday Night Memo, 3/11/18

Parent Teacher Conferences
Dinner will be served on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon before conferences starting at 3:30pm in the cafeteria.  It's not a lot of time to eat but please come down and grab a bite before conferences begin.

The following will be served:
Tuesday-Dinner from Fallon's Restaurant courtesy of PTO

• Italian Salad
• Smothered Chicken
• Rice 
• Vegetables
• Assorted desserts
• Assorted drinks (water, soda, tea)

Thursday-Dinner from Crazy Bowls & Wraps

• Assorted wraps
• Tortilla Chips
• Bottled Water

March 14th-National Walk Out

We will follow the direction of the district for the national walk out on Wednesday, as shared by Dr. Simpson.  

Students will be directed to walk out the back door to the blacktop (door used for recess) for the  17 minutes.  We will send out a supervision plan tomorrow.   It's hard to anticipate how many of our students will participate but we will allow them to walk out.  We will also continue in the classroom for the students who choose to stay in.

Outs This Week

Aimee and I will be out on Thursday for the district DLT meeting beginning at 8am.

Rock and Roll Bingo
THANK YOU to Social Courtesy for hosting an awesome night of fun to raise money for our school.  It was a great event and we appreciate all the hard work of the entire team who volunteered countless hours before the event to plan and set it all up.  Thanks to all the teachers who came out with their families for a fun night and all the teams for working to create each basket.  Looking forward to next year!

Statewide Tornado Drill
Tuesday, March 6th is the annual Statewide Tornado Drill at 10:00am.  Please prepare your students for the drill.  We will make an announcement over the speakers letting everyone know the drill is beginning.

Meet Mike
Mike Hazelton will be hanging out at Hixson the morning of Tuesday, March 6th.  He will walk around the building for a quick tour and meet with everyone. 

Parent Teacher Conferences
We will have dinner for everyone on March 13th and 15th.  Please come to the cafeteria after school to grab a bite to eat before our conferences begin at 4:00pm.  Dinner on Tuesday will be provided by the PTO and on Thursday by the building.
